What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness, at its most fundamental, is an intentional awareness of the present moment.

At the Center for Mindfulness, Compassion and Resilience, we approach mindfulness as a set of tools with which we can enhance our lives both personally and professionally.

Much of what we consider mindfulness today is an amalgam of practices with their roots in Eastern philosophy and spiritual tradition. At Center, we honor and acknowledge the multiple traditions and the many ways in which mindfulness is practiced across cultures, but ground our own practice in a distinctly secular, evidence-based method with foundations in the healthcare and clinical psychology communities.
